Hello, fellow card makers & crafters!!
Summer is here in the Midwest & we are definitely feeling the heat!! I usually add a couple of hibiscus plants around the pool every summer!! I love the tropical vibe, so I knew that I HAD to have the Layered Hibiscus Die Set from Scrappy Tails Crafts when I saw it!!
I began by die-cutting the beautiful blooms in the Layered Hibiscus Die Set from pink and two colors of yellow cardstock. I added some shading to the centers and stamen with Copic markers, then layered and adhered them together. A yellow gel pen was used to add some dots to the stamen.
All of the leaves were die-cut from dark teal and two colors of green cardstock using the Tropical Leaves Die Set. The sentiment was cut from dark yellow and bright pink cardstock with the “aloha” die included in the A7 Aloha Tropical Leaves Cover Plate.
The background was created by blending Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink onto an A7 panel of white cardstock through the Aztec Stencil. The stencil is 6” x 6”, so I stretched it by masking off the top of the stencil, adding the ink, lining it up and inking the top portion. I trimmed it slightly, then added it to an A7 panel of coordinating cardstock, then to an A7 card base. All of the die-cuts were arranged and adhered as shown.
I really love this color combo!! These die sets combine to create the perfect tropical, summer card!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you soon!!
