Hello, fellow card makers!! I hope you’re all doing well!! I have a fun birthday card to share with you for Crafty Meraki today!! I was inspired by a couple of cards that I saw on Instagram recently that had a weaved background! I thought the Craft-A-Round A2 Background Die would be perfect for this technique!!

I began by die-cutting the Craft-A-Round A2 Background Die from white cardstock. I cut narrow strips (about 1/4”) from light green, green, aqua and teal cardstock and weaved them into my background die. I trimmed the excess from the edges and adhered it to a black panel of cardstock that was slightly larger than the die-cut one, then to an A2 white card base.

For my sentiment, I used the Birthday Star Mini Slimline Para-Dies Set. “Happy birthday” and the stars were cut from holographic and black cardstock once and heavyweight white cardstock two times. I layered and adhered them together, slightly offsetting each layer.

I adhered the stacked die-cuts to the front of the card and I was finished!!

The die-cuts really catch the light, while still letting the background shine! (I just wish holographic cardstock was easier to photograph!) Now I want to weave all of my background dies!! In fact, I’ve already started another one for next week!! Stay tuned!!
Thanks for dropping by today!!
