Hey, crafty friends!! I have a fun, interactive card to share with you today for Crafty Meraki!! I know the theme last week was interactive cards, but I couldn’t resist making this little monkey swing!! This week’s theme is to create a card without Copic markers, so my chimp is colored with watercolor markers. See, I still followed the theme…ha!!
I began by stamping the monkey from the True Chimpion Stamp Set onto white cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, added highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Die to cut him out. The sentiment is also from the True Chimpion Set. It was stamped onto a black cardstock strip with the same clear embossing ink, but this time it was embossed with white embossing powder.
I foiled two of the panels from the Luminous Leaves ESP with green foil using my laminator. The one with the largest leaves was trimmed slightly and adhered to an A2 panel of green cardstock. The other panel was die-cut with a circle die and a panel of green cardstock was die-cut with a scalloped circle die. The two circles were stacked and adhered together.
I used my Cropodile tool to add a hole to the top of the vine and the circle die-cuts. I placed a tiny brad through the two holes and flattened the prongs on the back to secure the chimp to the circles. The circles were adhered to the cards front with liquid glue.
The sentiment strip was adhered with foam adhesive, avoiding the area where the brad is. I added some Dark Green Gems to the outer area of the circle so the chimp could swing back and forth freely.
Here’s an angled shot so you can see the foil a little better…it sure is beautiful, but difficult to photograph!!
Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Have a great Wednesday and I’ll see you soon!!
