Hello, friends!! I hope this finds you all well and healthy!!
I have a 5 1/2″ square Mother’s Day card to share with you today featuring the Spring Bouquet Honey Cuts from Honey Bee!!
As I was looking at the dies in the Spring Bouquet Honey Cuts Set, I thought one of the dies looked like it could be made into daffodils, so I wanted to try to make a bouquet of them!!
I began by ink-smooshing Distress Inks in hues of yellows and greens onto my craft mat, spritzing them with water and dragging panels of watercolor paper through them. Although I will be adding Copic details to the die-cuts, this gives me some variation of color in them. You could also cut them from colored cardstock, with great results. After the panels were dry, I die-cut the flowers and leaves from the panels with the Spring Bouquet Honey Cuts. To create the centers for the daffodils, I die-cut the small scalloped circle, cut a smaller circle from that and backed it with a larger circle die-cut. The watering can was cut from white cardstock and colored with Copics. Details were also added to the flowers and leaves with Copics.
For the background, I stamped the Buffalo Plaid Background Stamp onto white cardstock with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink. (I told you I was IN LOVE with this background stamp..lol!!) The largest of the Double Stitched Square Dies was used to cut the panel down, then it was adhered to a scalloped square cut from lilac cardstock with the largest of the Stitched Scalloped Squares Honey Cuts.
I popped up the watering can and flowers with foam adhesive, adding extra foam tape behind the daffodil centers so they would appear to be raised from the blooms.
I die-cut the sentiment from yellow and white cardstock using the Mother’s Day Honey Cuts. The rest of the sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock strips using the Birthday Stamp Set and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink. The sentiment was adhered with a combination of liquid and dimensional adhesives.
The final touch was adding dots to the centers of the flowers with a yellow gel pen!!
That’s it!! I seriously LOVE how these daffodils turned out!! I hope I’ve inspired you to see what kind of flowers you can make from your floral die-cuts!!
Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you soon!!
