Happy Thursday everyone!! I am also over on the Honey Bee Blog today!! I love looking at my stash and finding ways to use stamps & dies in ways other than which they were intended. I wanted to make an Easter card (after all, it is only a little over a week away), but don’t really have any Easter stamps. However, I DO have a bunny stamp!!
Do you know what I made the eggs from?? They are made from a die that is intended to be a bee body in the Build-A-Bee set!! I was soooo excited!!! I started off by stamping the bunny from Blah Humbunny with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, coloring with Copic markers, then cutting with the Coordinating Honey Cuts Die. Next, I cut six of the bodies from the Build-A-Bee Honey Cuts for my Easter eggs…I did trim off the pointy end at the bottom to make it a little more rounded. The Color Me Alpha set was used to stamp EASTER onto the eggs. I doodled some stripes and polka dots with a Copic Multi-Liner, then colored the eggs with Copic markers also. The background panel was inked with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. The Hills Border Honey Cuts were used to cut the grass portion of the background and Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks were blended onto them. I used the Partly Cloudy Honey Cuts to cut the clouds from white cardstock. The heart is from Penny the Platypus Honey Cuts and the “Happy” is from Happy Everything. This was also stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics. Then all I had to do was assemble the card. The background panel and hills was adhered to the card base. The bunny, eggs, clouds & heart were all adhered with dimensional adhesive. A Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer Pen was used to add some sparkle to the clouds and letters on the eggs. Lastly, a sprinkling of Clear Iris Mix Sequins (these are quickly becoming my favorite sequin mix!!!) completes the card.
Thanks for spending part of your day with me!! I hope I’ve inspired you to look at different ways to use your stash!!!
Have a Happy Easter!!!
