Hello, fellow crafters and happy Thursday!! I hope your week is going well!! We’re celebrating the 12 days of Christmas on the Trinity blog and today I’m sharing a shaped card for a teacher!! The holidays are always a great time to show our appreciation to all the teachers in our lives and my card today is perfect to accompany a gift or tuck a gift card into!! Let’s get to it!!
I started by die-cutting the top layer of the Pencil Slimline Die Set from black, cream, yellow, brushed silver and pink cardstock. I added some shading to the edges using Distress Inks and blending buddies. The solid bottom layer was die-cut from white cardstock and a white slimline card base, letting the left cutting edge of the die hang off the left side of the card base.
To create my sentiment, I used a combination of Simply Sentimental Stamps and Dies. “Happy holidays”, from the Simply Sentimental: Holidays Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with red ink, then cut out with the Coordinating Die and trimmed into a narrow strip. “Teacher” was die-cut from red and white cardstock using the Simply Sentimental: Teacher Die Set. “You’re the best” is from the Simply Sentimental: Thanks Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with red ink and trimmed into a narrow banner.
The Holiday Candle and Botanical Die Set was used to die-cut some embellishments from red and green cardstock.
The top layers of the pencil were adhered to the large, white die-cut, then to the slimline card base.
The “Teacher” die-cut was popped up with double sided foam strips and the rest of the sentiment was adhered with liquid glue.
The flowers and greenery die-cuts were arranged around the sentiment and adhered with liquid glue. I added a trio of Sun Glow Dewdrop Baubles to the center of each poinsettia to finish off the card.
I really love how this turned out!! I think any teacher would love to receive this special card with a gift or a gift card tucked inside!!
Thanks for stopping by today!! Have great weekend and I’ll see you soon!!
