Hello Friend – Crafty Meraki

Hello, fellow cardmakers and happy Wednesday!! I’m sharing a friendship card featuring the Starry Night A2 Die from Crafty Meraki today!!

I began by running the Starry Night A2 Die through my die-cutting machine with a panel of white cardstock using an embossing mat. This made an impression on the background so I knew where to color it with Copic markers. (I end up covering the yellow centers up with gems, so that’s not really necessary.) It also leaves a nice texture on the background.

Next, I die-cut another panel of white cardstock with the Starry Night A2 Die. I added shading with Copic markers.

The largest die in the Frame-Worthy Die Set was cut from pink cardstock. The sentiment is a combination of the Meraki Moments Hello Stamp and Die Set. “Hello” was die-cut from pink and white cardstock and vellum. “Friend” was stamped onto a white cardstock strip with pink dye ink.

The Starry Night Die-Cut was adhered to the background panel using liquid glue and I used a yellow gel pen to add dots to the centers of the flowers. The frame was also adhered using liquid glue.

The die-cut sentiment was stacked and adhered together using liquid glue, then adhered to the background. I trimmed three more narrow strips of heavyweight white cardstock and adhered them behind the “friend” strip before adhering it over the tail of the hello die-cut.

At this point, I decided to add the butterfly created with the Flutter Dream Freebie Press Plate. I pressed it onto vellum with Versamark ink, then embossed it with detail white embossing powder. I fussy cut it out, along with a layer of pink cardstock. The pink layer was adhered to the background and the vellum layer was only adhered behind the body of the butterfly, allowing the wings to pop up. I added Daffodil Dew Drops to the center of each of the flowers with a Bling Buddy to the finish off the card.

I really LOVE how this turned out and and hope you do, as well!!

Thanks so much for dropping by!! Have a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll see you soon!!
