Happy Wednesday, friends!! I’m sharing a card today featuring the Sweet Sunshine Die Set from My Pretty Things!! You can use it to create a fun sun or a beautiful sunflower!! How cool is that?!? I used it to create this stunning sunflower that just pops off the page!!

I began by die-cutting all the layers of the sunflower from white cardstock using the Sweet Sunshine Dies. I colored them with Copic markers, then adhered all the layers together with liquid glue.

For the background, I die-cut a panel of white cardstock with a rectangle die and embossed it with the Fall Leaves 3D Embossing Folder from Honey Bee Stamps. I used a gold pigment ink pad and drug it across the panel to bring out the texture. A panel of yellow cardstock was die-cut with an A2 rectangle die and the embossed panel was adhered to it. I adhered a strip of burlap paper across the center of the background and trimmed each side. At this point, I REALLY wanted some leaves to go with my sunflower. I had several palm trees from the Beach Friends Forever Stamp Set already colored so I tried them behind my sunflower and they looked awesome!! I trimmed off the trunks and adhered them to the back of the sunflower, then adhered it to the front of the card.

The sentiment is also from the Beach Friends Forever Stamp Set. It was gold heat embossed onto white cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I die-cut one more layer from yellow cardstock and two more from heavyweight white cardstock. They were adhered together with the yellow layer slightly offset, then adhered to the lower, right area of the card. A white gel pen adds a bit of detail to the center of the sunflower and this card was finished.

I love how this turned out!! The palm treed make the perfect leaves, don’t you think?
