Land of the Free Because of the Brave – Pink & Main

Hello, friends and happy Memorial Day!! I hope those of you in the US are enjoying the long holiday weekend as we reflect on and remember those in the military who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!!

I love to find ways to stretch my stash and combine new products with older ones which, at first glance, may not look like they work together!! That’s exactly what I did for my card for Pink & Main today!!

I started by stamping the image from the American Eagle Stamp Set onto Ice Rink cardstock using Asphalt ink. I colored it with Copic markers and added highlights with a white gel pen. The Coordinating Dies were used to cut it out and I added shine to the eyes with a black glaze pen.

To create the background, I die-cut the Heart Spotlight Cover Die from Stop Sign, Ice Rink and blue cardstock. I adhered the Ice Rink die-cut to a white A2 card base, then inlaid the red and blue die-cuts, alternating the colors. The Stitched Circles Frames Die was cut from the same Stop Sign, Ice Rink and blue cardstock and adhered over the heart. The excess was trimmed from the right edge.

The sentiment, also from the American Eagle Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto Asphalt cardstock and die-cut with the smallest die in the Layered Rectangle A2 Die Set. It was popped up over the circles with foam tape, along with the eagle. Gems from the Special Day and Happy Hello gem sticker packs add a bit of shine and finish off the card.

I really love how this turned out!! I love even more that I got to use the Heart Spotlight Cover Die in a different way!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Enjoy the rest of the holiday!!
