Love and Kisses to the New Mr & Mrs – Honey Bee

Good morning!! I created this card for the Honey Bee Blog. I love combining older products with newly release products to really get more from my stamps. I wanted to create a wedding card using the new Mr & Mrs set, but I needed a “theme” for my card. Sure, I could have done the traditional florals, but I wanted something different. I know…I would make a bee themed card for the newly wed “honey bees”!!!

I began with my background. Using one of the Hexagon Layering Background Stencils, I ink blended Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Inks onto a panel of white cardstock. I trimmed the panel down slightly on each side to allow a bit of the black cardstock to show. The Mr & Mrs Honey Cuts were cut from gold glitter paper, black cardstock and vellum; they were stacked and adhered together. The “Love and Kisses to the New”, from the Mr & Mrs stamp set, was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto black cardstock strips. The bees, from Busy Bees, were stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers. The coordinating Busy Bees Honey Cuts were used to cut out the bees. I also cut two additional bees from black cardstock and adhered them behind the bees, slightly off-set, giving them a shadow. After deciding on placement, the Mr & Mrs dies, sentiment strips and bees were all adhered to the background panel with dimensional adhesive. Lastly, I used the Hexagon Bunches Honey Cuts and gold glitter paper to cut several hexagons. These were also placed onto the background panel with foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this non-traditional take on a wedding card!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! I’ll see you soon!!
