Hello, crafty friends!! I’m super excited to share a card that I created in collaboration with Altenew!! I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Altenew florals, so when Mitzi asked me if I’d be interested in creating a card with some of their products, it was a no-brainer for me!! My card today features the Craft-A-Flower: Cape Marguerite Layering Die Set and the Royal Brocade 3D Embossing Folder with a sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments Stamp Set!!

I began by die-cutting the flowers and leaves in the Craft-A-Flower: Cape Marguerite Layering Die Set from white cardstock. I blended inks from the Cherry Blossom Fresh Dye Ink Set to add color to the petals using Mini Blending Brushes (my absolute favorite blending brushes!!), adding the darker color at the center and blending out to the lighter shade. I added a bit of the mid-tone inks to the ends to give the petals a curled under appearance. The centers of the flowers were blended with the Summer Afternoon Fresh Dye Ink Set and the leaves with the Sea Shore Fresh Dye Ink Set. Once the ink was dry, I curled the petals with a pencil to give them more dimension, then adhered the flowers together with liquid glue. This is the first time that I’ve used the keyhole system and I’m in love!! It makes it sooooo easy!!

For the background, I trimmed a panel of white cardstock to slightly smaller that A2 and embossed it with the Royal Brocade 3D Embossing Folder. It was splattered with diluted Black Soot Distress Ink, than adhered to an A2 panel of Pink Diamond Cardstock. At this point, I decided to add a bit of splatter to the flowers, diluting the Distress Ink a little more for a lighter application. Once all the ink was dry, the flowers and leaves were arranged and adhered to the background with liquid glue.

The sentiment, from the Heartfelt Sentiments Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto a strip of black cardstock and popped up with foam tape. A trio of black gems around the sentiment finishes off the card.

I LOVE everything about this card…the flowers, the colors, the textures…all of it!!
