Mele Kalikimaka – Trinity Stamps

Happy Thursday, Trinity friends!! I hope your week is going well!! I’m sharing a holiday card tooday featuring the Hau’oli Mau Lanui Stamp Set from Trinity Stamps!! I have a friend who moved to Hawaii a couple of years ago, so this will be the perfect Christmas card to send to his family!!

I began by stamping the Santa image from the Hau’oli Mau Lanui Stamp Set onto white cardstock with InkOn3 Blackout Ink. I colored it with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, dots to the centers of the flowers with a yellow gel pen, then used the Coordinating Die to cut it out.

Next, I masked off the top part of a panel of white cardstock and blended the ocean with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Next, I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink through the Layered Peninsula Stencil with a Blending Buddy to add the waves. I blended Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks onto the bottom of the panel, then splattered it with diluted ink and white bleed-proof ink. The sunset was created by masking off the bottom portion of the panel and blending Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks onto the panel with Blending Buddy Brushes. One of the stencils in the Catching Some Rays Stencil Set was applied to the panel and the same inks were blended through the stencil with a heavier hand. I created the foam between the ocean and the beach by dabbing Snow-Tex onto the area with a stiff bristled brush. Once that was dry, the panel was die-cut with the second largest die in the A2 Clean Cut Layers Rectangle A Die Set, then adhered to an A2 white card base.

The sentiments, also from the Hau’oli Mau Lanui Stamp Set, were stamped onto white cardstock using InkOn3 Blackout Ink. The Coordinating Dies were used to cut them out.

Santa was adhered to the background using liquid glue.

The sentiments were both popped up with foam tape and this card was finished.

Here’s another close-up…

I just love the expression on Santa’s face!! I think I need a trip to the beach now!!

Thanks so much for spending part of your Thursday with me!! Have a great day and I’ll see you soon!
