Hello friends!! I hope you are enjoying all of the inspiration created with the new Season to Sparkle release from Honey Bee!! I am trying to get a head-start on my Christmas cards and this release came at the perfect time for me!!
I am sharing a rainbow Christmas card!! I know that red and green are the traditional holiday colors, but anytime I can squeeze in a rainbow, it’s a win in my book!
I began working on my background panel first, as I wanted to match the colors and allow time for the Glimmer Paste to dry. I ink blended Distress Oxide Inks (Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet) onto a panel of Bristol paper using Background Blender Brushes and the Mini Pines Background Stencil. While the stencil was still in place, I applied Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste with a palette knife and scraped away the excess.
I stamped the Merry Lights image onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copic markers to match my background. I die-cut the image and several of each letter from white cardstock using the Merry Lights Coordinating Honey Cuts. I colored one of each letter with the same Copic markers, then stacked and adhered the white ones under them. The letter die-cuts were adhered slightly off-set and the larger die-cut image was popped up onto the background panel with foam adhesive. For even more sparkle and shine, an Aqua Shimmer Pen and Glossy Accents were added to each letter and light bulb!!
That’s it!! I am totally in love with how this card turned out…bright, sparkly and shiny!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great week and I’ll see you soon!!
