Hello, crafty friends and Happy 4th of July !! It’s the last day of the Christmas in July sale in the Honey Bee shop and I couldn’t resist creating a Christmas card for the occasion!! I love the escape of dreaming of cooler weather and holiday traditions in the middle of summer!!
I began by die-cutting the pinecone, foliage and berries from shades of brown, green and gold glitter cardstock using the Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery Honey Cuts. I splattered the die-cut with some diluted white gouache and set them aside to dry.
I die-cut the background from a piece of patterned paper in the Adventure Awaits Paper Pad with the second largest die in the Sweet Stacks: Rectangle Die Set and adhered it with Bee Creative Glue to a panel of green cardstock that was cut with the largest die in the same set. The die-cuts were all arranged and adhered with Bee Creative Glue.
The sentiment, from the Foil Script: Holidays Hot Foil Plate and Die Set, was foiled onto Glimmer Specialty Cardstock with matte gold foil. It was die-cut, along with three more layers, from heavyweight white cardstock. They were stacked and adhered together with liquid glue, then adhered to the background panel. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the pinecone and wreath to finish it off and add even more sparkle. (There’s no such thing as too much sparkle on Christmas cards, right?!?)
Thanks so much for spending a bit of your Tuesday with me!! Don’t forget to head over to the Honey Bee Shop to get some great deals on those holiday supplies and get a head start on your Christmas cards!!
