Hello, friends and happy Friday!! It’s release day for the Picket Fence Studios April Release!! There’s a fun and inspiring hop happening over on IG…I’ll pop a link to my account at the bottom of this post so you can join in the fun and possibly win a $75 GC to the Picket Fence Studios Shop!!
I have two cards to share with you today that just scream SUMMER to me!! The first one is a shaker!!
I started by stamping the flamingos from the Summer Beach Friends Dear Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers and cut them out with their Coordinating Dies. I added some dots to the center of the flowers with a yellow gel pen and highlights with a white gel pen.
For the background, I white heat embossed the Flamingo Summer Dear Stamp Set onto white cardstock. I blended Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Inks onto the panel with Life Changing Blender Brushes. I trimmed the panel slightly and die-cut circle using a die from the 3.0 Connected Circles Shaker Creator Die Set. I trimmed the shaker sheet to fit behind the opening and adhered it to the back of the panel. I added foam adhesive to the panel, added All About the Pinks and All About the Yellows sequin mixes for the shaker bits and adhered it to a white card base. The flamingos were adhered in the center of the circle.
The sentiment, from the Fabulous Flamingos Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, cut out with the Coordinating Die, adhered with liquid glue and this one was finished.
My second card really makes me wish summer would hurry up and get here!! I can just taste that watermelon!!
I started by stamping the images from the Sweet Sweet Dear Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copics, then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. I added some dots to the centers of the flowers in the girl’s hair with a yellow gel pen.
Next, I die-cut the A Rainbow For All Seasons Die Set from white cardstock and used my Paper Pouncers to apply Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks to them. The Scene Building: Grassy Hill Die was also cut from white cardstock. I used the Paper Pouncers to add the same green inks to it.
For the background, I used a Paper Pouncer to add Mustard Seed Distress Ink over the Sun with Rays 6×6 Stencil on a panel of white cardstock. The rainbow and grass die-cuts were adhered with liquid glue, while the girl and birds were popped up with foam tape.
The sentiment, also included in the Sweet Sweet Dear Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Die. It was also popped up with foam adhesive. Watermelon Crush Embellishments were the perfect finishing touch. How cute are those little watermelon seeds?!?
That’ll do it for me today!! Hop on over and join in the festivities on Instagram @mypapercutcreations. Be sure to check out the entire fabulous new release over in the Picket Fence Shop!!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
