Hello, friends!! I’m sharing a vibrant pink monochromatic birthday card with lots of dimension today for Alex Syberia Designs!! How perfect would this be for a 16th birthday, or really anyone who loves the color pink?!?
I began by stamping the elements from the Celebrate With Cake Stamp Set onto white cardstock with gray and two different shades of pink dye ink. Once the ink was dry, I white heat embossed the details onto the layers of the cake and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies.
For the background, I blended both shades of the pink ink onto a panel of white cardstock using the streamers from the Carnival Party Stencil and Die Set and lightly blended the lightest shade around the outside of the panel. I masked off the top portion of the panel and pounced Versamark ink through the Speckled Background Stencil onto the bottom of the panel and added white embossing powder. The powder was melted and I blended the same pink inks over the embossing.
I wanted the focus to be on the cake and the background competed with it, so I cut a panel of vellum to size, folded it over the top and adhered it to the back of the panel. The pinwheels, also from the Carnival Party Stencil and Die Set, were blended onto another piece of white cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. They were layered over the vellum and the excess was trimmed from each side. The cake was adhered together with liquid glue then popped up on the front of the card with foam tape.
I used the Floral Balloon Extravaganza Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies for the sentiment. They were stamped onto white cardstock with dark pink ink. I also die-cut three more layers of each sentiment from heavyweight white cardstock and adhered them behind the stamped one, then adhered them to the front of the card. To finish, I added some pink gems to the background and a little sparkle to the centers of the flowers with Star Dust Stickles.
That’ll do it for me today!! Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you soon!!
