Hello, crafters and happy Saturday!! I have a Christmas card in non-traditional colors to share with you today for Alex Syberia Designs!! Purple isn’t normally my go-to for Christmas cards, but I recently purchased a set of OLO markers and I wanted to try out this purple color combo!!
I stamped the poinsettia from the Festive Poinsettia Stamp Set onto white cardstock with alcohol-friendly black ink. I colored it with OLO alcohol markers, added some highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Die to cut it out.
For the background, I hot foiled the Elegant Stripes Hot Foil Plate onto white cardstock with Speckled Prism Foil, then cut it out with the largest rectangle die in the Nested Scalloped Frames Die Set. I adhered the poinsettia to the top, left corner of the card, trimmed off the excess and adhered it to the bottom.
The sentiment is a combination of a stamp from the Festive Poinsettia Stamp Set and the Be Merry Sentiments Die Set. I stamped the sentiment from the Festive Poinsettia set onto white cardstock with dark purple ink, cut it out with the Coordinating Die, then adhered it with foam tape. The top layer of “Christmas” was die-cut once from purple cardstock and three times from heavyweight white cardstock using the Be Merry Sentiments Die Set. The bottom layer was cut from white cardstock. All of the layers were stacked and adhered together, then adhered to the front of the card. I added some iridescent rhinestones that matched the foil to finish it off.
I really love how this turned out!! How about you? Do you use non-traditional colors on your Christmas cards?
You have one more day to take advantage of the SALE in the shop…it ends tomorrow!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Enjoy your weekend!!
