Sending Hugs & Kisses – Honey Bee

Hello there!! Thanks for stopping by today for Honey Bee Tuesday!!! Love is in the air as we get closer to Valentine’s Day!! Several years ago, I owned a retail shop and one of the services we offered was balloon deliveries. It was always so much fun to see the recipients face when I walked in carrying a huge bouquet of balloons!! There is nothing better to make someone’s day!! Valentine’s Day was the busiest day of the year for us. I was always a fan of all of the different printed balloons that we had to offer, so I wanted to mimic those with today’s card.

I began by stamping the box, tissue paper and balloon images from the Celebration Box set onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I stamped the small hearts from the set randomly onto the balloons, then colored them with Copic markers. I added polka-dots to the balloons and stripes to the tissue paper with a white gel pen, before fussy cutting all the images. I used a black marker to eliminate the white edges. I stamped “sending” from the Sending Sunshine set and “& kisses” from the Special Delivery set onto strips of red cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed them in white. The ends were trimmed into a banner shape. I cut “hugs” from the Hugs Honey Cut Die from red & black cardstock, then adhered them slightly off-set to create a drop shadow. Then, all that was left was the assembly. The back layer of tissue paper was adhered flat to the black cardstock panel, while the front layer was adhered to the backside of the box and then popped up with foam adhesive. The die-cut sentiment and sentiment banners were adhered to the front of the box. Foam adhesive was also used to give the balloons the illusion of floating off the card. The white gel pen was used again to draw on the strings of the balloons. The black panel was adhered to a slightly larger red panel, then attached to the white card base. Finally, drops of Ruby Slippers Nuvo Drops were added for a little sparkle.

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by today!! I hope I’ve inspired you to start working on your Valentine cards!!!
