Hello, fellow crafters!! Are you in for a treat today!! The brand new Warm & Cozy Holiday Release from Trinity Stamps is available for purchase now!! There is so much holiday goodness in this release!! We are celebrating with an Instagram and YouTube hop also, so be sure to check those out, too!!
I have a fun interactive card to share with you today!! I absolutely LOVE snowmen, so when I saw the Happy Snowman Die Set, it was right up my alley!!! The fun thing about this set is that you can use it on a slimline card or an A2 size…how great is that?!?
Let’s get to my project, shall we?
I began by die-cutting all of the pieces with the Happy Snowman Die Set from white iridescent glitter cardstock and red, black, white, brown & orange cardstocks. I also cut the pieces of the snowman’s body a second time from heavyweight white cardstock for stability, then built my snowman. This set has a couple of different sets of arms and two different mouths, so you can build your snowman the way you like.
Next, I ink-blended Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks onto a panel of bristol smooth cardstock. I used the first layer of the Slimline Layered Snowfall Stencil with white pigment ink and a Blending Buddy for the first layer of falling snow on my background. I added some glitter paste for my second layer and splattered on some diluted white gouache with a paintbrush. The same glitter cardstock was used to hand cut a snowbank and it was adhered to the bottom of my ink blended panel. I used the slotted base die from Slimline Surprises Die Set to die-cut the panel for a fun, interactive reveal card. This die set makes it so easy to create a slimline pop-up slider card!! It even creates the score lines, so you know exactly where to fold. This set also comes with dies to create rip strips to include a fun surprise for the recipient. ( I didn’t use them today, but can’t wait to try them out!)
I stamped some snowflakes from the Christmas Magic stamp set onto the front of a slimline card base with Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks. After adhering the bottom of the tag to the bottom of the slotted base under the score line with strong adhesive, I popped it up onto the slimline card base with foam adhesive. This allows the tag to slide freely and you can see the snowflakes on the front of the card.
The snowman was adhered to the front of the card, being sure to only add adhesive below the center fold and between the two vertical cut lines so your card will slide properly. The Scripty Holidays Die Set was cut from red and white cardstock and adhered to the bottom of the snowman. I added some festive red and white polka-dotted ribbon to the hole at the top of the tag and I was finished!!
I really love how this turned out!! I had never created a pop-up slider card, and the Slimline Surprises Die Set made it so easy to do!!
