Summer – Wishing You Sunny Days – Pretty Pink Posh June Release

Hello again, friends!! It’s release day for the Pretty Pink Posh June Release and I am extremely honored to be a guest designer this month!! This release is chock-full of fabulous products that just scream SUMMER!! My shaker card today features the amazing Sand Bucket Shaker Dies, Summer Words Stencil, Summer Script Die, Sentiment Strips: Summer Stamp Set and the Paradise Shaker Beads!! In fact, the Paradise Shaker Beads were the inspiration for my color scheme!!

I began by taping the outside and the insides of the Sand Bucket Shaker Die Set together to cut the outline for the shaker. It was die-cut once from pink cardstock and five times from heavyweight white cardstock. The handle was cut from orange cardstock once and heavyweight white cardstock five times and the shovel was cut from yellow cardstock. I separated the bucket dies and cut the outside die once from acetate and once from vellum. All the layers were stacked and adhered together with liquid glue, with the acetate sandwiched between the pink layer and the white layers. The Paradise Shaker Beads were added and the vellum layer was adhered to the back. I did trim just a little bit off of each end of the white cardstock layers of the handle so it would lay flush with the bucket.

For the background, I blended pink, peach and pale yellow dye inks onto a panel of white cardstock through the Summer Words Stencil. I also blended the same colors onto the outside edges of another panel of white cardstock. The panels were die-cut with rectangle dies and adhered together with liquid glue. The bucket shaker and the shovel were adhered to the background.

The sentiment is a combination of the Summer Script Die and the Sentiment Strips: Summer Stamp Set. The Summer Script Die was cut once from orange cardstock and five times from heavyweight white cardstock. I trimmed away the center portion of each white die-cut, leaving only the “s” and part of the “r”. The white layers were adhered behind the orange layer and it was adhered across the bucket. This allowed the “summer” sentiment to lay evenly across the bucket. The supporting sentiment, from the Sentiment Strips: Summer Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto orange cardstock and trimmed into a narrow banner. It was popped up across the bucket with foam tape to complete the card.

I had SOOOOOO much fun with this release!! I have a few more cards to share throughout the month, including one on day 5 of the 5 day Instagram Hop (June 9 – 13) to celebrate the release and provide tons of inspiration!!
