Hello crafty friends!!
I recently had the pleasure of working with the Spellbinders June Small Die of the Month Kit!!
This is such a darling set!! The cupcake, the flowers, the candle…what’s not to love?? Seriously, you get so much bang for your buck!!! Let’s get to my project, shall we?
I began by embossing and die-cutting the cupcake and frosting from white cardstock. I wanted the frosting to be rainbow colors, so out come the Distress Oxide Inks. I blended Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber for the bottom; Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Fossilized Amber & Picked Raspberry for the frosting. Next, I coated the frosting with Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste and set it aside to dry while I worked on my background. I love the little chain of flowers included in the kit. I embossed and cut it several times from white cardstock. They were adhered diagonally onto a white cardstock panel. The tone-on-tone background makes me giddy!!! The white panel was trimmed slightly and adhered with foam adhesive to a cardstock panel that was ink blended with the same Distress Oxide Inks that were used on the frosting. The sentiment is a combination of a couple of stamp sets from Honey Bee Stamps. “Sweet’ is from Ham It Up & “Birthday Wishes” is from Cheerful Sentiments. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock. The sentiment strip was adhered flat, while the cupcake was popped up with foam adhesive. Lastly, a few Cupcake Rhinestones from Honey Bee, were the perfect “sprinkles”…they are named “cupcake” rhinestones, after all!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed working with this kit!! If you have never checked out the Spellbinders Club Kits, I sincerely recommend taking a look!!
Thanks for stopping by today!! See you soon!!!
Wow ! I want to eat your cupcake ! It’s soooo gorgeous and joyful !
