Hello everyone!! It is February 1st and time for a new challenge at The Ton!!! This month we have a cue word: Heart. I feel that love is definitely in the air more this month than any other time of the year!! Create a card for that special someone and come play along for a chance to win a $50 gift card to The Ton’s Shop!!!

As I began going through my stamps for this challenge, I realized that I don’t have very many heart themed products in my collection (which is totally surprising, if you could see my stash…lol). I guess that means I need to going shopping, right? I do have the XOXO Mini set that was just released last week…perfect!! My thought was to combine it with the stunning floral from the new release…Peony Notes.

I started off by stamping the background from Peony Notes onto a white panel with Blue Diamond Dye Ink. Next, I stamped the leaves with Soft Garden and Bright Fern Dye Inks. The peonies were stamped using Soft Amethyst, Iris Blooms and Grape Crush Dye Inks. I love the way the o’s in the XOXO Mini set are replaced with hearts!! I stamped that with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The “Happy Valentine’s Day” sentiment is from the Smooched set…it was also heat embossed in white onto a strip of purple cardstock, then cut into a banner. A strip of purple cardstock was placed at the top of the card base, before adhering the stamped panel, to balance out the design. The sentiment banner was popped up with foam adhesive under the XOXO. Lastly, a few sequins from the new Lilac Blossoms Couture Mix and the Glass Slippers Round Confetti Mix were scattered here and there.
