The Ton May 2021 Release

Hello, crafty friends and welcome to The Ton’s May Release!! I have two cards to share with you today! There is also a short blog hop with more inspiring projects that I will post the details for at the end of this post!! There are 10 stamp sets, 3 stencils and 1 pop-up die in this fabulous release!! Be sure to check them all out on The Ton’s Blog!!

Let’s get to my projects, shall we?

Up first is the Peony Print Layering Stencils and Coordinating Die

How fun is this? There are seven stencils in the set and I used all of them except the background. I ink-blended Bubblegum, Cherry, Beach Blondie, Amber Citrine, Matcha and Spring Salad inks onto white cardstock with blending brushes, then used the Coordinating Die to cut it out. I layered it over a square panel of dark blue cardstock, then added a frame cut using the largest Double Stitched Square Nested Die and white cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock using the Ribbons General Stamp Set with Miami Cool and Deep Sapphire inks, then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. It was popped up with foam adhesive and I added some Dew Drops Clear Enamel Dots for a little shine.

My second card features the Hibiscus Pop-up Dies on the inside, but we’ll start with the front of the card. I wanted it to match the inside, so I used the Lovely Hibiscus Layering Dies

I die-cut all of the layers from yellow, orange, pink and white cardstock using the Lovely Hibiscus Layering Dies. I wanted the colors of the bloom to be brighter, so I inked the die-cuts with Lemon Yellow, Coralline, Cosmopolitan Pink, Matcha and Meadow inks. Once the ink was dry, I adhered all of the layers together.

For the background, I ink-blended Matcha Ink through the Foliage Stencil on a light blue rectangle that was die-cut using the Rectangle A2 Nested Dies. The sentiment, from Easy Expressions Cheers, was stamped with Cosmopolitan Pink and Noir Ink, then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The hibiscus was adhered to the background and the sentiment was popped up with foam adhesive.

This is what you see when you open the card…

I die-cut the layers in the Hibiscus Pop-Up Die Set from the same colors of cardstock as the front, plus purple. I ink-blended the same inks that I used on the front of the card onto the hibiscus and leaves using the Coordinating Stencil. The butterfly was inked with Iris Blooms and Noir ink. I assembled and adhered everything following Effie’s detailed instructional video HERE.

Wouldn’t it be a nice surprise to open a card and see this inside? I love it!!

OK, here are the stops on the hop…

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great day & I’ll see you soon!!!
