The Ton’s Fall 2017 Release – Blog Hop

I love using unconventional colors for my holiday cards!! My first cards today are perfect examples of the type of cards that I like to send.

I started off stamping the Holiday Love Poinsettia image onto heavy weight cardstock with Caviar Ink and fussy cutting them, although the coordinating dies are now available. Copic markers were used to color these fabulous images. I stamped the Minor Stripes Cling Background onto white paper with Noir Ink, then cut strips on the diagonal. I cut a black panel and splattered it with watered-down white paint and some Clear Wink of Stella for shimmer. After the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiments with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The black panel was adhered onto colored cardstock. The stamped stripe strips and Silver Glitter Tape were adhered to the card base, with the main panel being placed on top. The poinsettia images were popped up with foam adhesive onto the card panel. Silver Stickles highlighted the center of the flowers, as well as some spots on the black background. Clear Rhinestones were placed onto the flowers to mimic dew drops.

My next two cards are not holiday related…I cannot get enough of the magnolias in this release!!!

This card uses the beautiful Magnificent Magnolias set. The flowers were stamped around a black panel with Hampton White Pigment Ink. I used polychromos colored pencils to first fill in each petal with white, then added the color over it. The sentiment is from Large Floral: Carnations and was heat embossed in white. I cut a small strip from the bottom of the panel. The strip with the sentiment is adhered flat to the panel, while the bottom strip and large top portion are popped up with foam adhesive. Some sequins from the Blue Ice Couture Mix were the finishing touch.

Here is my last card…see what I mean about the magnolias??

This card was created by first heat embossing the Magnolia Fields Cling Background onto Bristol paper. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers were used to color the image. The sentiment is from the Occasion Confetti set & was  also heat embossed in white onto a strip of vellum. A mixture of sequins from the Blue Ice Couture Mix added the perfect amount of bling!!

  53. All of your cards are amazing! I love the blue and purple poinsettias on the black card stock. Your magnolias are gorgeous! I especially love the one you colored with the polychromos pencils. Unless you use them a lot faster than I do, I know how much time and effort went into that card. It was all worth it because that card is absolutely stunning!
