Hello!! Welcome to Day 2 of the fabulous Trinity Stamps Winter Release Blog Hop!! If you didn’t hop along on day 1, you can start here. If you arrived here from Emelie Hessler’s Blog, you are on the right track. I have also included a complete list at the bottom of this post.
I have so many friends and family members that tell me that they save every Christmas card that I have ever given them. I decided to make a card that can also be hung as an ornament. It opens as a top-folding card with a round back flap to write a message.
I used the Joyeux Noelset today. How adorable is this reindeer and trees?
Here’s how I made it! I began by stamping the images from the Joyeux Noel set with light ink onto white cardstock. After coloring them with Copic markers and adding additional details with colored pencils, I used the Joyeux Noel Coordinating Dies to cut out the images. I set those aside and went to work on the background. I die-cut two circles using the Double Stitched Circle Dies, one from heavyweight white cardstock(for the back flap of the card), and one from Bristol paper (for the front panel). I also die-cut a scalloped circle with the Stitched Scallop Circle Dies from white cardstock to place behind my front panel. I used a Hills Border Dies to cut some snow drifts, then cut the bottoms with the same circle die. I spread some Nuvo Glitter Accents in Fresh Snowfall over the hill die-cuts and set them aside to dry. I blended Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides onto the previously cut Bristol circle. I splattered It with water and blotted up the excess with a paper towel. I also splattered on a mixture of water and Perfect Pearls. After everything was dry, I adhered the hills to the bottom of the ink-blended circle and stamped the sentiment with black Staz-On Ink, using a little creative masking to omit part of the sentiment. The deer, trees and stars were adhered with foam adhesive. The front panel was adhered to the scalloped circle die-cut. I scored a line at the top of the back circle panel and applied adhesive only to the portion above the score-line, before adhering to the card front. Lastly, I punched a hole at the top of the card and tied a bow with a red ribbon to use as a hanger.
That’s it!! I just adore this stamp set and can’t wait to use it on more Christmas cards!!
Next up on the hop is Courtney Kreeber.
