Hello, friends and happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a great week!! I have a sort-of “Ode to Summer” card to share with you today. For me, Labor Day is usually the end of the summer season, so I wanted to squeeze one more summer card in!!
I began by stamping the images from MFT’s Sunny Days Ahead and Honey Bee’s Hello Summer stamp sets onto white cardstock with InkOn3 Blackout Ink. I colored the images with Copics, fussy cut the girl and die-cut the beach accessories with the Hello Summer Coordinating Honey Cuts.
For the background, I die-cut the waves from three different colors of aqua cardstock using the Honey Bee Makin’ Waves Long Border Dies. I trimmed the waves to 4.25″ wide. I freehand cut the “sand” from a panel of tan cardstock and used a background stamp and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink to add the texture. I added some chunky glitter to the edges of the sand and waves with liquid adhesive and set them aside to dry.
I stenciled the sun directly onto the white cardbase with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink. Salty Ocean Distress Oxide was added to the sky with a blending brush. The sentiment, also from Sunny Days Ahead, was stamped in the upper, right corner with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
Once the glue and ink was dry, all I had to do was assemble the card. The girl and beach accessories were popped up with foam tape. I added shadows under them with brown Copics for dimension. That’s it!!!
What about you? What signals the end of summer for you?
Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great day!!
So cute!
P.S.
I know you wanted to make one last summer card. I am in San Antonio, Texas and we are still hitting 100*F plus temps. Summer is far from over here! haha Super cute card. 💜
