Hello, crafty friends!! I have a fun pop-up card to share today for Crafty Meraki!! The theme this week is interactive cards and I was inspired by a video from Jennifer McGuire to try this super cool technique!!
I began by stamping the cupcake from the Be Your Own Kind of Cupcake Stamp Set onto white cardstock with InkOn3 Blackout Ink. I colored it with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then used the Coordinating Die to cut it out.
For the background, I foiled the heart panel from the Cupid’s Canvas ESP with red foilusing my laminator. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to an A2 panel of red cardstock, then to a top-folding card base. I die-cut the scalloped heart die from the center of the panel, being sure to open the card when running it through the die-cut machine. I then die-cut the heart from the scalloped piece that I cut from the center and die-cut a heart using the same scalloped heart that I cut from the background. I adhered those together, then adhered the cupcake to the center with foam tape.
Next, I trimmed a strip of white cardstock one inch wide and four inches long. I scored the strip at one inch, two inches and three inches, then folded it along the score lines, creating a “box” when it’s folded. It was adhered to the top, center of the inside of the card right up against the score line, then the die-cut hearts with the cupcakes was placed into the opening and adhered to the “box”.
The sentiment is also from the Be Your Own Kind of Cupcake Stamp Set. It was stamped onto black cardstock with Versamark Ink, embossed with white embossing powder and trimmed into a narrow strip. I popped it up on the front of the card with foam adhesive.
When you open the card, the heart pops up on the inside of the card!! So cool!! That Jennifer McGuire is quite the genius, isn’t she?!?
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great day and I’ll see you soon!!
