Hello friends!! Welcome back for Honey Bee Tuesday!! I have Valentine’s cards on the brain lately…so, that’s what I have to share today!!
This is a peek-a-boo technique that I saw Jennifer McGuire demonstrate recently. I thought this adorable dog from Playful Pups would be perfect for this technique. I started by blending alcohol inks onto Yupo paper for the background, then adhered it to a white card base. The largest pup from Playful Pups, along with the bow tie and heart tag, were stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers (I always have to color them like one of my goldens). I then fussy cut the image and used a black marker to eliminate the white edge. I then used the Playful Pups Honey Cut Dies to cut the image into the front of the card. The die cut right through both layers on the front of the card. Next, I placed the pup onto foam adhesive and attached to the inside of the card base, lining it up inside the die-cut front. The sentiment was die cut from gold glitter paper and black cardstock with the Bee-You-Tiful Honey Cut Dies and adhered together. The “Mine”, from Bee-You-Tiful Sentiments, was stamped with Versamark and white heat embossed onto a heart that I punched from red cardstock. The little bee (which was a free gift with purchase) was also stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics, before fussy cutting. The balloon was popped up with foam adhesive and I also added a tiny bit to the bee for more dimension. I hand drew the string from the balloon around the dog’s front leg, then added some Black Nuvo Drops to his eyes. The sentiment inside is from the Pawsome Sentiments set and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I added a little heart from the Special Delivery set with red ink for a little pop of color.
I love the way this little pup peeks through the front and also shows on the inside of the card!!
Thanks for hanging out with me today!! Have a great week!!
