Hello crafty friends!! Today I am sharing a couple of cards created using the newest release from Honey Bee, “Rambling Man“!! I was soooo excited to see these stamps & dies that can be used for masculine cards (definitely one of my weaknesses)! You see, I met my husband when he was a drummer in a local band, so I couldn’t wait to create a card with the drum on it!! And the sentiments in these sets are just so clever!! Let’s get started!
Here’s a photo of both projects…
Let’s begin with the card with the drum on it!!
I started off stamping the drum and drum sticks from Music Speaks onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic markers. I added a little sparkle to the silver parts of the drum with a Silver Gelly Roll Pen, then cut them out using the Coordinating Honey Cuts. The sentiment, from Rockstar Sentiments, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and also cut out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I used one of the Sheet Music Stencils and Nuvo Garnet Red Glimmer Paste on red cardstock, for a tone-on-tone look. I cut a black “frame” from black cardstock using the Double Stitched Triangles Honey Cuts. (I thought the triangle was cool, since it reminded me of another percussion instrument appropriately named the “triangle”.) I popped all of the elements up onto the stenciled background panel with foam adhesive. (I used black foam adhesive behind the black elements.) Lastly, I added a few Clear Crystal Gem Stickers to the tension rods on the drum.
The guitar card was made pretty much the same way…
To “frame” the guitar, I used the Double Stitched Diamonds Honey Cuts.
There you go!! A couple of cards for the “rockstar” in your life!! I absolutely love how all of these music themed products work together!!
Have a great week and I’ll see you soon!!
I am a musical person and my father plays drums too, so I will definitely be buying these products from Honey Bees for sure! What an awesome stencil, just the background alone is awesome. Brenda luv, as always – AWESOME job! I’m sure your husband will love it.
So question for you dear – do you sketch out your card ideas first or do you just start with one idea and while doing that others come to your mind?
