Christ Is Born – Honey Bee

Good morning, friends!! I am so excited to share another project using products from the newest Season to Sparkle Release from Honey Bee Stamps!! The Christ Is Born stamp set includes a unique nativity scene and several amazing greetings and sentiments!! Love it!!

Christ-Is-Born-1

You could stamp the image from Christ Is Born directly onto the background for a clean and simple card. However, I LOVE dimension and wanted to create several layers for lots of depth!! I stamped the image onto a background panel of white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored only the background with Copic markers. I stamped the image three more times, twice onto white cardstock and again onto a piece of wood patterned paper from the Great Outdoors Paper Pad. I added some shading to the manger with Copics and fussy cut it out. Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus are also colored with Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Honey Cuts, as is the star. The foreground was colored with the same Copics as the background and also fussy cut.

The beautiful sentiment was white heat embossed at the top of the background panel. I used the Follow That Star stencil with Versamark Ink and Singing In the Rain Embossing Powder to add some sparkly stars to the sky. Mustard Seed Distress Oxide was blended onto the background where the star would be placed. Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus & the star are popped up with foam tape. White highlights were added with a white gel pen and that’s it!!

  1. FABULOUS card! Girl, no, I have not even started making Christmas cards. I was thinking about it while in the shower and thinking of ideas, but the problem is that Senor Mojo walked out on me again. Womanizer that he is, he wanders off sometimes. ha-ha
