Clean and Simple Week – Honey Bee

Hello friends!! We are featuring clean and simple cards this week on the Honey Bee Blog that are easy to mass produce for the holidays!!

To be honest…clean and simple is not my specialty…ha! More is more in my book, but that’s not always realistic when you’re trying to make a lot of cards at one time.

I created two cards today! One is clean and simple, the second one shows how you can step it up a notch by adding a couple of die-cut backgrounds.

Let’s get started!

I began by silver heat embossing a greeting from the Season to Sparkle stamp set onto white cardstock and cutting it out with the Coordinating Dies. I die-cut several snowflakes from white and silver glitter cardstock using the Layering Snowflakes Honey Cut Dies.

I trimmed a panel of light blue cardstock slightly smaller than my card base and splattered it with diluted white gouache. After it was dry, the die-cuts were adhered as shown.

A few white and clear gem stickers add a little more interest. There are 300 gems in each packet, so plenty to make multiple cards!

Now, for the stepped-up version…

All I did different is not splatter the blue background panel with gouache and add two die-cut backgrounds (the top and middle layers) which were cut using the Winter Prism Coverplate Dies.

I also popped the greeting die-cuts up with foam adhesive. I omitted the white gems and used less of the clear ones. This one is definitely more my style!!

What about you? Which one is more your style?

Thanks so much for joining me today!! I hope that you find many ideas to inspire your Christmas cards this week!!

I’ll see you soon!!!
