Fan-Freakin-Tastic Graduation Card – Honey Bee

Hello everyone!! Graduation season is upon us and my best friend’s son just graduated from college!! I thought the Balloon Bunch XL Honey Cuts from Honey Bee would be perfect for a colorful, festive graduation card. I made a slim-line card because I wanted to use ALL of the balloons…ha!

I began by cutting all of the balloons from different colored cardstock using the Balloon Bunch XL Honey Cuts. I blended Distress Oxide Inks in darker colors around the outside of each balloon to create dimension. I drew in highlights with a Nuvo Aqua Simmer Pen and tied black & white twine around the neck of each balloon. After figuring out the placement of the balloons, I adhered the larger ones directly to the black panel and the two smaller ones were popped up with foam adhesive. The strings were adhered to the back of the panel and I trimmed off the excess cardstock that hung over the edges. For the sentiment, I used a combination of the Hooray For You Honey Cuts and the Happy Birthday stamp set. “Hooray” was die-cut from silver glitter paper and black cardstock. “Fan-Freakin-Tastic” was white heat embossed onto a black cardstock strip. Both the die-cut and sentiment strip were popped up with foam adhesive. Finally, a few Rainbow Gem Stickers were added to each balloon.

I finished off the inside with a sentiment from the Congrats Grad stamp set (not shown).

Thanks so much for joining me today!! I’m off the make another graduation card for another friend’s son. I think I’ll stick with the balloon theme!!

Have a fan-freakin-tastic week!!
