Father’s Day Card from the Dogs – Honey Bee

Hello, crafty friends!! Father’s Day is almost here & although our kids have four legs, I always make my husband a card and buy him a gift for the occasion!! I combined the Father’s Day stamps & Coordinating Dies from Honey Bee’s Ramblin’ Man Release with several products from their previous release.

I began by die-cutting the dog house from a wood grain paper from the Great Outdoors paper pad and red cardstock using the Dog House Honey Cut Die. I cut the background panel from a piece of pattern paper from the Over the Rainbow paper pad, as well as the grass using the Grass Border Die. The greeting and “Daddy’s Girls”, from the Father’s Day stamp set were white heat embossed onto red cardstock. (I did some creative masking and stamping to make Daddy’s Girl into Daddy’s Girls, since we have two pups.) They were cut with the Father’s Day Honey Cuts (using partial die-cutting and fussy cutting for Daddy’s Girls). The puppies and paw prints, from the Puppy Love stamp set, were stamped onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Honey Cuts. The sun is from the Rainbow Wishes Honey Cuts and was cut from yellow cardstock. The card was assembled as shown using lots of foam tape. I used a black glaze pen to add some shine to the eyes and nose and then hit them with a highlight using a white gel pen. Lastly, Nuvo Crystal Glaze adds a bit of shine to the paw prints and tongues of the pups.
