Happy “Birday” To Me!! – Honey Bee

Hello friends!! Welcome back to Honey Bee Tuesday!! A Tuesday that just happens to be my birthday!! I have a birthday card to share with you today, with a little play on words!!

I love this little bird from the Snow Birds set & wanted to create a card that wasn’t holiday related. I began by using the A2 Double Stitched Frames Honey Cut die to cut the background panel, then used the heart stencil from the Fall Showers Stencil set, with a thin layer of Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste. I stamped the snowbird with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copic markers, before fussy cutting (Coordinating Dies also available). I used the Happy Honey Cut Die to cut part of the sentiment from red & black cardstock. I adhered the die cuts together, slightly offset to create a drop shadow. The rest of the sentiment was created with the Simple Alpha set, spelling “birday”, which was heat embossed in white onto a strip of black cardstock. The heart balloons started with a stamp from the Little Pickup set. I stamped the hearts with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, drew the necks and bows onto the balloons, then colored them with Copic markers. I freehanded some strings onto white cardstock, then  fussy cut the balloons and strings. Then I assembled the card as shown. The bird, balloons, strings and “birday” banner are all adhered with foam tape for added dimension. I added some dots to the hat and highlights to the balloons with a white gel pen. That’s it!!

This card just makes me happy!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!! Have a great week!!!!
