Hello, friends and happy Thursday!! Brenda here with a “sweet” card for my niece, who will be 14 this year!! Of course, this card can be recreated for any age!!

I started by die-cutting the cake from yellow cardstock using the largest die in the A2 Clean Cut Layers Rectangle Set A Die Set. The frosting was cut from brown cardstock and the highlights from white cardstock using the Sweet Stack Layers Die Set. I added shading to the layers with yellow dye inks and Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks using Blending Buddy and Shading Sidekick Brushes, then diluted the same inks and splattered the cake background with a paint brush. The sprinkles were die-cut from aqua, pink and purple cardstock using a die in the same die set. All the die-cuts were adhered together with liquid glue.

The sentiment is also included in the Sweet Stack Layers Die Set. It was also cut from aqua, pink, purple and white cardstock. The letters were adhered to the shadow layer with liquid glue, then popped up onto the cake with foam squares.

The numbers, from the Number Candles Stamp Set, were stamped onto white cardstock with purple and yellow dye inks. The Coordinating Dies were used to cut them out, along with two more layers of each from heavyweight white cardstock. I added a bit of shading to the flames with red dye ink using a Shading Sidekick and used a black marker on the wicks.

I trimmed off the bottom tab on the candles, then stacked and adhered them all together with liquid glue and adhered them to the top of the cake. I used the measurements on my glass mat to make sure it would fit into a 5″x7″ envelope

I used a shimmer pen to add bit of shine to the flame and added Glossy Accents to make them shine.

I can’t wait to give this to my niece!!
