Hello Bluebird Holiday Release – Preview Day 1

Hello, friends and welcome to Preview Day 1 for the Hello Bluebird Holiday Release!! I’m super honored to be guest posting and creating with this new release!! It’s soooooo fantastic!!!

Let’s get to my project!!

I’m highlighting several new goodies on this 5” x 7” card!! I HAD to use all of the images in the City Sidewalks Stamp Set, so I needed to use a larger format to include them all!

I began by stamping all of the images in the City Sidewalks Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black Copic-friendly ink. I chose to use primary colors. Here are the Copic colors that I used:

  • Red: R39, R29, R35
  • Yellow: Y17, Y08, Y02
  • Blue: B06, B04, B02
  • Green: G16, G14, G06
  • Squirrel & Reindeer: E39, E35, E33, E21, E50
  • Bunny: W5, W3, W1, W0
  • Fox: E99, YR27, E97, E95
  • Kitty: C5, C3, C1, C0
  • Bear: E47, E44, E43, E41

After all of the images were colored, I cut them out with the City Sidewalks Coordinating Dies. I added vellum behind the window of the taxi and yellow cardstock behind the openings in the lamp post.

Next, I blended Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxides onto a 5”x7” panel of blue cardstock. I splatted some dilutes white gouache onto the panel, then set it aside to dry. Once it was dry I die-cut the Merriest Christmas Die from the panel and adhered white glitter cardstock behind it. The snow banks were die-cut from the same white glitter cardstock with the Slimline Hill and Dale Dies and adhered to the bottom of the background panel.

All of the die-cuts were arranged and adhered to the background. The final touch was adding black glaze pen detail to the eyes and noses of the critters and highlights to the die-cuts with a white gel pen.
