Hello Bluebird Holiday Release – Preview Day 3

Hello and welcome back for the third & final day of previews for the Hello Bluebird Holiday Release!! All of the new goodies will be available for purchase tonight at 7pm MST!!

Are you ready for some more awesomeness?!? My card today features the Winter Skate Stamps & Dies and the Oval Nesting Dies!! I had a sweet squirrel left over from the Winter Skate set, so I also made a little tag with the Star Bright Die Set!!

I started by stamping the sweet skating squirrel images from the Winter Skate Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black Copic-friendly ink. I colored them with Copics and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies.

The card base was cut from a white A2 card base with the largest oval in the Oval Nesting Die Set, letting the top of the die hang off the folded edge. Another oval was cut from white cardstock with the same die and adhered to the base. I die-cut another oval from blue cardstock with the second largest die in the set. I blended some Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink onto the panel. Once it was dry, I white heat embossed the sentiment and snowflakes onto it. I die-cut two more ovals, one from white cardstock and one from vellum, using the same oval die, then cut the top edge of them with the Hill and Dale Die Set to create the “ice”. I added some color to the ice with blue Copic markers and white heat embossed the skate marks onto the vellum.

The trees were cut from green cardstock using the Slimline Skating Pond Die. I added some shading with green Copic markers. I adhered everything together, popping the squirrels up with foam adhesive. I splattered on some diluted white gouache for more snow. Lastly, a black glaze pen adds some shine to the squirrels’ eyes and noses.

For the tag, I die cut the star three times from blue cardstock and the thin outline from white cardstock using the Star Bright Dies. All of those were adhered together, then the squirrel and sentiment were added with foam tape. I punched a small hole in the top of the star and tied some green and pink twine through it. This could also be used as an ornament!
