Hello Bluebird May Release – Preview Day 1

Hello, friends and welcome to Preview Day 1 for the Hello Bluebird May Release!! I’m super excited and honored to be guest posting and creating with this new release!! You’re going to fall in love!!!

The release will be available on Saturday, May 21 at 7PM MST!!

Let’s get to my cards!! I couldn’t stop with just one!! The critters from the Forest Fawns Stamp Set are absolutely darling!!

I began by stamping all of the images in the Forest Fawns Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Copic-friendly black ink. Here are the Copic colors that I used:

  • Fawn: E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40
  • Tree stump: E39, E37, E35, E34, E31
  • Bunny: C5, C3, C1, C0, C00
  • Butterfly, flower and ears: R30, R00
  • Grass: YG67, YG17, YG03, YG01

After all of the images were colored, I cut them out with the Forest Fawns Coordinating Dies.

Next, I die-cut a panel of white cardstock with the second largest die in the Nesting Deckle Mini Slimline Die Set. I masked off where I wanted the horizon line and blended Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks onto the panel with a blending brush. I removed the tape and blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink on for the sky, fading it toward the outer edges. I splattered some diluted white gouache onto the panel, then set it aside to dry. I die-cut pink cardstock with the largest panel in the Nesting Mini Slimline Die Set and adhered the deckled edge panel to it, once it was dry.

The top layer of the My Favorite Words Die was cut from pink cardstock once and heavyweight white cardstock two times. The bottom layer was cut twice from heavyweight white cardstock. The layers were all stacked and adhered together with liquid glue. I also stamped the sentiment from the Forest Fawns Stamp Set onto the bottom of the deckled panel with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The die-cut sentiment was adhered at the top with liquid adhesive and all of the critters were popped up with foam tape. I added some highlights with a white gel pen and I was finished with this one!

My second card was created in pretty much the same way, with just a couple of differences. This one is a landscape orientation, where as the first one was portrait.

I used the same colors of Copic markers with the addition of adding B06, B04 & B01 for the bird.

This time I used the Love You Words Die for the die-cut sentiment.

I am seriously IN LOVE with this Forest Fawns Stamp Set!!
