Hello Bluebird – Preview Day 3

Hello, fellow card makers and welcome back to Day 3 of previews for the Hello Bluebird September release!! All of the new goodies will be available on Wednesday, September 8th at 7:00 PM MST. Set your alarms!! I have a feeling A LOT of these items are going to sell out quickly!!

I have a fun, Halloween card to share with you today!! The Full Moon Dies are the perfect backdrop for all of your Halloween scenes, and more!! EEEKKK…how adorable are the ghosts and pumpkins from the Ghostly Night and Jack Die Sets?!?

I began by die-cutting the moon from yellow cardstock and the tree and frame from black glitter cardstock using the Full Moon Die Set. I ink-blended Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks onto a panel of Bristol cardstock. I splattered it with water and picked up the excess with a paper towel. Once it was dry, I splattered the panel with diluted white gouache. I added some dimension to the moon by blending on some Wild Honey and Mustard Seed Distress Oxides. The ink-blended panel, tree, frame and moon were adhered to a white, top-folding 5.5″ x 5.5″ card base.

Next, I die-cut the ghost, hat and broom from white cardstock using the Ghostly Night Die Set, and the pumpkins from orange and green cardstock using the Jack Dies. I added dimension and details with Copic markers, then added some black cardstock behind the openings in the ghost and jack-o-lantern die-cuts. A couple of the pumpkins were adhered with liquid adhesive and the jack-o-lanterns were popped up with foam adhesive, as was the ghost. Lastly, a sentiment from the Good Fright Stamp Set was stamped onto the moon with black ink.

I am in love with these dies!! I can’t wait to make more Halloween cards!!
