Hello Summer – Starry Night Collection by FSJ

Hello there!! I am excited to be guest posting for Spellbinders again today!! I have three cards to share that showcase the Hello Summer – Starry Nights Collection. I had sooo much fun creating these projects!!

Starry-Nights-1WM

Let’s start with the simplest card, shall we? This one uses the Believe in Magic stamp set…

Starry-Nights-2WM

I began by stamping the cute little rabbit coming out of the hat from the Believe in Magic stamp set onto Bristol paper with black, waterproof ink and coloring it with watercolor markers.

Starry-Nights-3WM

After fussy cutting the image, I popped it up onto a white panel that was splattered with diluted ink that matched the color in the band around my top hat. The sentiment was stamped in black ink below the bunny. The panel was matted and popped up with foam adhesive.

I added a little detail to the bunny’s eyes using a black glaze pen and white gel pen. A trio of sequins form the Starry Nights Sequin Mix adds a little more interest.

Spellbinders Supplies:

Other supplies: Neenah 110# white cardstock, Neenah 80# white cardstock, red cardstock, Versafine Onyx Black Ink, Zig Clean Color Real Brush Makers, liquid adhesive, foam adhesive, black glaze pen, white gel pen

My second project was created with the Critternauts stamp set and Space Galaxy background. How adorable are these little critter astronauts?!?!

Starry-Nights-WM5WM

I began this project by stamping all of the images from the Critternauts stamp set onto Bristol paper with black, waterproof ink, coloring them with watercolor markers and fussy cutting them out.

Starry-Nights-WM6WM

I created a galaxy background by ink blending distress oxide inks onto a panel of Bristol paper and splattering it with water to create additional interest. I also splattered on some Silver Silk for a little shine. After the panel was completely dry, I white heat embossed the Space Galaxy stamp onto the panel.

The sentiment was stamped with distress oxide ink onto white cardstock and trimmed into a rectangle. The critters and sentiment rectangle were all adhered with foam adhesive. A few holographic sequins from the Starry Night Sequin mix were scattered around the background.

My third and final card is a shaker card using the Space Cadet stamp set. This is my favorite!! I just love the way this turned out!!

Starry-Nights-WM8WM

For this one, I began by gold heat embossing the images from the Space Cadet stamp set onto Bristol paper. After coloring them with watercolor markers, they were fussy cut. I created a galaxy background by ink blending distress oxide inks onto a panel of Bristol paper and splattering it with water to create additional interest. I also splattered on some Silver Silk for a little shine.

Starry-Nights-WM9WM

I die-cut a circle and the stitched line from a white cardstock panel using the Circle Around Die Set. The greeting was stamped with distress oxide ink onto the front panel. The Starry Night Sequin Mix was perfect for the shaker portion of the card!!

Starry-Nights-WM10WM

The fussy cut images and a few star sequins, also from the Starry Night Sequin Mix, were adhered to the front of the card.
