Honey, Be Mine – Honey Bee

Hey there, friends!! I hope you are staying warm and cozy!!

I’ve been dying to use the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine Honey Cuts from Honey Bee Stamps!! I absolutely adore how delicate these dies are!! I thought they would look great on an alcohol inked background!

I began by die-cutting the top layer of the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine and the Honey Buzzwords Honey Cuts four times from heavyweight white cardstock. The solid and bottom layer of the die sets were cut from vellum. I stacked and adhered the cardstock layers together and adhered the vellum to the back.

For the background, I added layers of Flamingo, Watermelon and Wild Plum alcohol inks with isopropyl alcohol onto Yupo paper. The hard part for me with alcohol inks is knowing when to stop…I could play all day!! I did add tiny spots on a diagonal with a stylus dipped in isopropyl to break up the background a bit. I trimmed the panel to be slightly smaller than A2 and adhered it to a white cardbase.

Next, I adhered my stacked vine die-cuts in opposite corners and trimmed the excess from the edges. The “honey” die-cut was adhered to the center of the panel. I white heat embossed “be mine?”, from the Honey Stamp Set, onto a left over piece of Yupo paper that I trimmed from the background and cut it into a strip, then popped it up with foam tape.

I really love how this turned out and hope you do, too!! I love the crisp white die-cuts on the bright background!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great day and I’ll see you soon!!
