Honey Bee Birthday Bliss Instagram Hop

Hello, crafty friends and happy weekend!!

Honey Bee Stamps just turned 7 there is a fun and inspiring hop to celebrate the Birthday Bliss Release over on Instagram!!!! This release is phenomenal!! I thought I would share my card here, in case anyone was interested in the details.

I LOVE shape cards!! I just think they are just so unexpected, so I fell hard for the Birthday Cake A2 Card Base Honey Cuts!!

I began by die-cutting the cake shape, frosting dollops, candle and flame from heavyweight white cardstock using the Birthday Cake A2 Card Base Honey Cuts. The cake layers and sprinkles were die-cut from rainbow colors of cardstock using the same set. There is a Make A Wish Stamp Set that you can decorate your cake with, but I chose to leave mine unstamped. I’ve always admired the rainbow layered cakes that I’ve seen on Pinterest, so I wanted to mimic that!

I folded the card base along the score line and reinforced it with a bone folder. The candle was colored with Copic markers to match the cake layers. The flame was also shaded with Copics and adhered to the candle. The cake layers, frosting, candle and sprinkles were then adhered to the card base with Bee Creative Glue. I adhered an extra die-cut candle behind the colored one to add stability.

For the sentiment, I used the new Big Buzzword Stamp Set and Big Buzzword Honey Cuts. The top layer of “big” was cut once from glossy black cardstock and twice from heavyweight white cardstock. The bottom layer was cut from heavyweight white cardstock two times. The layers were all stacked together and adhered with Bee Creative Glue, then adhered to the front of the card.

“Birthday wishes” was stamped onto a white cardstock strip with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear heat embossed to match the shiny black die-cut. It was popped up with foam tape. I added some crystal glaze to the sprinkles and flame for even more shine.

I stamped a sentiment from the You Bake Me Happy Stamp Set on the inside of the card with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and I was finished! I thought this sentiment went perfectly with the cake shaped card!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Be sure to hop on over to Instagram to join in on the fun over there!! You can get started at my account @mypapercutcreations!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!
