Hello, again friends!! Busy day for me today…ha!!

There is a fun and inspiring hop going on over on Instagram to celebrate the Modern Spring Release from Honey Bee!! This is such an AMAZING release!! I thought I would share the details of my card here, in case anyone was interested!! Of course, I had to use the Lovely Layers: Tulip Honey Cuts!! You know the Lovely Layers Dies are some of my favorite dies EVER!!

I began by die-cutting all of the pieces in the Lovely Layers: Tulips Honey Cuts from white cardstock. For the petals, I blended Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks onto the die-cuts. I used Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness on the stems and leaves and Mustard Seed on the stamen. I also added some additional shading to the stamen with Copic markers.

For the background, I die-cut the Spring Leaves A2 Pierce Cover Plate Honey Cut from white cardstock and adhered it to a white top-folding card base. I die-cut a piece of yellow gingham paper from the Gingham Galore Spring Paper Pad with a die in the Scallop A2 Card Frames Dies and adhered it to the pierced panel. The tulips were arranged and adhered, popping some of the petals and leaves up with foam adhesive for dimension.

I wanted my sentiment to match my tulips, but I didn’t have the perfect shade of pink cardstock, so I applied my Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide pad directly to a piece of white cardstock. Once it was dry, I die-cut the top layer of “bloom” using the Bitty Buzzwords: Bloom Honey Cuts. I die-cut the top layer two more times from heavyweight white cardstock and the bottom layer twice, as well. I stacked and adhered them together with Bee Creative Glue. For the rest of the sentiment, I used the Bitty Buzzwords: Bloom Stamp Set and Kitsch Flamingo Ink. It was stamped onto white cardstock, trimmed into narrow strips and popped up with foam tape.

These colors sure make me long for Spring, although we got snow and ice again last night!!
