Hello, friends!! It’s release day for the Simon Says Stamp Joy For You Release!! My card features the Holly Cardinal 3D Embossing Folder and Reverse To You and Yours EZ Strips!!

I started by embossing the Holly Cardinal 3D Embossing Folder onto a panel of white cardstock. I used Copic markers to color the backside (the recessed side) of the panel. I applied a navy blue dye ink directly to the panel, hitting the background and high points of the embossed image.

I trimmed the panel slightly and splattered it with diluted white bleed-proof ink. Once that was dry, I added red and white baker’s twine toward the bottom of the panel and tied it into a bow. It was adhered to an A2 white card base.

Two of the Reverse To You and Yours EZ Strips were die-cut with banner dies and popped up with foam strips. I added a tiny bead to the eye of the cardinal and added a highlight with a white gel pen.

This blackout technique with embossing folders NEVER gets old for me!! It’s brings the drama!!
