Mom, I Love You – Honey Bee

Hello, friends!! Have you recovered from the time change yet? While I love having an extra hour of daylight in the evening, it does take me a bit of time to adjust!

I am still working my way through my Honey Bee florals and this week I am featuring the beautiful Cosmos stamp set. I was inspired by the packaging from one of my colored pencil sets. It has some really bright, cosmo-looking flowers on the front and I wanted to try to mimic that look!!

I started by stamping the images from the Cosmos stamp set onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copics. I cut them out with the Coordinating Honey Cuts and colored the white outline with a black Copic. I mixed some white gouache with Mustard Seed and Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide Ink, diluted them with water and splattered them onto a panel of dark blue cardstock with a paintbrush.

Once it was dry, I adhered the blue panel to an A2 size panel of yellow cardstock. The cosmos were arranged down the left side of the card and adhered with foam adhesive. “Mom” was cut from yellow and orange cardstock using the Best Parents Honey Cuts. “I love you”, from the Best Parents stamp set, was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto a strip of yellow cardstock. The die-cut and sentiment strip were both popped up with foam tape. I added some dots to the centers of the flowers with a yellow gel pan and a sprinkling of Seas the Day Confetti to finish off the card.

This would be perfect for Mother’s Day or anytime just to let your mom know that she is loved!!

Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me!! Have a great week and I’ll see you soon!!!
