Nutty Friends Belated Birthday Card – Crafty Meraki

Hello, fellow crafters & card makers!! I hope you’re having a great week!!

I have felt a bit like a squirrel lately…easily distracted and jumping from one limb to another…lol!! So I totally related to the Nutty Friends Stamp Set from Crafty Meraki and created this belated birthday card!!

I began by stamping the images from the Nutty Friends Stamp Set onto white cardstock with InkOn3 Blackout Ink. I colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. I ran a black marker around the outside of the image to hide the white core of the paper and give a more finished look.

For the background, I blended Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink onto the bottom of an A2 panel of Bristol cardstock. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide with a cloud stencil and a blending brush for the sky. The sentiment, also from Nutty Friends, was stamped onto the panel with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The tree and mushrooms were adhered flat to the card front and the squirrels were popped up with foam adhesive. I added some highlights with a white gel pen and called It done!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great Thursday!!

  1. Your cards are always so beautiful, but this one touched a nerve, girl. I have been in a turf war with the street gang of squirrels that torment my beautiful plants. I told my next door neighbor that she’s invited to the little squirrel funeral that I am planning. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Do you remember the movie “Caddyshack” when Bill Murray was the ground keeper at war with the gopher? That’s how I feel. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    1. Oh my, Marisela!! I feel for you!! We’ve never had that problem with squirrels, but I’ve had bunnies dig in my plants. I do remember the Caddyshack movie…an oldie but goodie!!πŸ˜‚ Thanks for the chuckle…may you win the war!!

      1. Oh, lines have been drawn, Brenda. I knew war was declared when they decided to add insult to injury and POOP where my plants are. It is on now. Rosita la Colita (Rosita the Furry Tail) gives me the eye, but she knows. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Warm hugs from San Antonio, Texas, Brenda. I hope you can visit one day, if you haven’t already. We’re a little chubby, but we’re nice people. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
