Patriotic Cards – Honey Bee

Hello, crafty friends!! Did you see the products in the Heroes mini-release from Honey Bee that were released on Sunday?!? Oh my gosh!! So many options and possibilities with these new sets!! I couldn’t wait to get inky!!

I have two patriotic cards to share using the United We Stand stamp set and Coordinating Dies and My Hero stamp set and their Coordinating Dies!!

I began by creating the flags for both of my cards by stamping the stripes of the flags from United We Stand onto white cardstock with red ink. I die-cut the flag shape using the large rectangle in the Coordinating Dies and the star portion from blue cardstock, then adhered the star die-cuts to the flag shapes.

For the background on the first card, I ran a panel of blue cardstock through my die-cut machine with the Twinkle, Twinkle Background Stencil and embossing pad, embossing the design onto the panel. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to panels of white and red cardstocks. I added some subtle sparkle to the embossed stars with a shimmer pen.

I stamped the greeting from United We Stand onto white cardstock with red ink and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. After adhering the sentiment to the flag, they were both popped up with foam adhesive.

The background for my second card was created by white heat embossing the “HERO” stamp from My Hero diagonally onto blue cardstock repeatedly. I added some shimmer pen to the open areas of the letters, then trimmed the panel down and adhered it to panels of white and red cardstocks.

I stamped the sentiments onto white cardstock with red ink and the dog tags and heart with black ink and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. The dog tags and heart were colored with Copic markers.

The dog tags were adhered to the corner of the flag, trimming off the excess. All of the elements were popped up onto the background panel with foam tape. I added a little shimmer to the dog tags and heart with a shimmer pen and called this one done!!

Have you ordered these sets yet? I have so many more ideas swimming around in my head for all of the heroes in my life!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great week and I’ll see you soon!!!
