Picket Fence Studios April Release

Hello, fellow crafters and cardmakers!! I’m super excited to be a guest designer for the amazing April Release from Picket Fence Studios!!

I have three cards to share with you today!!

My first card features the adorable Penguins Wanna Have Fun Stamp Set!!

I began by stamping the darling couple and speech bubble from Penguins Wanna Have Fun onto white cardstock with Copic-friendly black ink. I colored them with Copics and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. I also die-cut three more layers of each from heavyweight white cardstock and layered them behind the colored ones.

Next, I stamped the glaciers from the Glacier Scenery Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. I stamped the images again onto masking paper and fussy cut them out. The masks were placed over the stamped images, then Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks were blended onto the background. I colored the glaciers and added some details to the water with Copic markers. The sentiment, also from the Penguins Wanna Have Fun Stamp Set, was stamped onto the background with black ink. I added a shadow with a red Copic marker.

I trimmed the background panel slightly and added it to a panel of red cardstock, then a white, top-folding card base. The penguins and speech bubble were adhered to the background. Lastly, I added some highlights to the water with a white gel pen and a sprinkling of Iridescent Crystalline Diamonds.

My second card features the Iconic Beauty Scarlett Stamp Set

Isn’t she beautiful?!? I began by stamping the image from the Iconic Beauty Scarlett Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Copic-friendly black ink. I colored her with Copics, then cut her out with the Coordinating Die.

For the background, I ink-blended Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks through the Slim Line Hexagon Randomness Stencil onto a panel of white cardstock. I trimmed the panel slightly and added it to a panel of light pink cardstock, then an A2 top-folding card base. The die-cut beauty was adhered to the front of the card with liquid adhesive at the bottom and foam adhesive toward the top for dimension.

The Marvelously You Word Topper Die was cut from black cardstock once and heavyweight white cardstock two times. The sentiment, from the Iconic Beauty Scarlett Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto the bottom of the topper, then the two white layers were adhered behind the black one, offsetting them slightly. It was adhered to the bottom of the card and the excess was trimmed from each side.

My final card is a slimline card created with the new Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly Cover Plate Die

For this one, I began by die-cutting the Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly Cover Plate Die and sentiment from the Iconic Beauty Scarlett Dies three times from heavyweight white cardstock. I stacked and adhered all of the layers together, then set them aside to work on my background. (I did cut away the bottom two layers where the sentiment overlapped the antennae and wing of the butterfly.)

I ink-blended Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Inks onto a slimline panel of white cardstock. I splattered it with water and picked up the excess ink with a paper towel. Once dry, it was adhered to a white top-folding slimline card base.

The die-cuts were adhered, along with some clear sequins from the Fly With Me Sequin Mix and this one was finished!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Be sure to check out the rest of the April Release from Picket Fence Studios!! It’s a fabulous release!!
