Picket Fence Studios January Release

Hello, friends and happy Saturday!! It’s release day for the Picket Fence Studios January Release!! Such a fabulous release, but aren’t they all?!? I have two cards to share with you today!! There’s a fun and inspiring hop happening over on IG…I’ll pop a link to my account at the bottom of this post so you can join in the fun and possibly win a $75 GC to the Picket Fence Studios Shop!!

The first is a butterfly shaped card!! I used the Coral Reef Sequin Mix as inspiration for my color combo!!

I began by die-cutting the solid layer of the Soar Butterfly Die from an A2 white top-folding card base, letting the top of the die hang over the fold of the card. I also die-cut another layer from white cardstock with the same die. I ink-blended Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks onto that panel with Life Changing Blender Brushes.

Next, the detail layer of the Soar Butterfly was die-cut from black glitter cardstock. I adhered it to the ink-blended butterfly, then adhered that panel to the butterfly shaped card base, adding adhesive only along the body of the butterfly so the wings could “pop-up”.

The sentiment was created by combining a couple of sets. “Hello” was white heat embossed onto black cardstock using a stamp in the Baby Butterfly Beauties Stamp Set, cut out with its Coordinating Die, then popped up with foam adhesive. “Friend” was die-cut three times from heavyweight white cardstock with a die from the Flaunt Butterfly Die Set. The layers were stacked and adhered together, then adhered to the front of the card. A sprinkling of the Coral Reef Sequin Mix was the perfect finishing touch and add a bit more sparkle. I absolutely love this color combo!!

My second card I’m sharing today features the stunning English Roses Die!! So beautiful!!

I started by die-cutting the solid layer of the English Roses Die from Bristol smooth cardstock. I used Karin Brushmarker Pro markers to loosely watercolor it, trying to keep the colors close to where the flowers and leaves were positioned. The detailed layer of the English Roses Die was cut from white cardstock. Once the solid layer was dry, the detail layered was adhered to it.

For the background, the A2 Pierced Blanket Cover Plate was cut from white cardstock and adhered to an A2 white card base. The roses were adhered with foam adhesive for dimension.

The sentiment, from the Baby Butterfly Beauties Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink, then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. It was adhered with a combination of liquid and foam adhesive. I combined a trio of sequin mixes to match the watercolor…green from the All About the Greens, pink from Butterfly Bush and yellow from the Fish Food Mix.

That’ll do it for me today!! You can hop over and join the fun on Instagram @mypapercutcreations. Be sure to check out the entire fabulous new release over in the Picket Fence Shop!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!
