Picket Fence Studios September 2022 Release

Hello friends!! It’s release day for the Picket Fence Studios September 2022 Release and I’m super excited to announce that I will be joining the amazing Picket Fence Design Team!! There is a fun and inspiring hop going on over on Instagram to celebrate the new release with a chance to score a $75 gift code to the Picket Fence Shop!! Before you jump over there, I have two cards to share with you (well, actually three, but two of them are the same design)!!

I love any and all snowflakes!! I decided to make my first cards in the shape of snowflakes for a little something different!! My color palette was inspired by the new Candied Snow Sequin Mix Plus!!

I began by mixing Snowdrop White Paper Glaze and Sparkle Paper Glitz together and spreading it onto white cardstock with a palette knife. Once it was dry, I die-cut the Snowflake Crystal & Snowflake Frost Dies from the frosted, glittery cardstock. The bottom layers were die-cut from Bristol cardstock and inked with Mermaid Lagoon and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks using Life Changing Blender Brushes. I diluted some Snowdrop White Paper Glaze and splattered it on with a paint brush. The bottom layer was also die-cut from heavyweight white card bases, letting the dies hang over the fold to create the fold in the shaped cards.

The ink-blended and glazed layers were adhered to the front of the card base. The sentiments, from A Polar Bear Winter Celebration Stamp Set, were stamped onto white cardstock with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink, cut out with the Coordinating Dies and popped up with foam adhesive. Snowflakes, baubles and beads from the Candied Snow Sequin Mix Plus finish off the cards nicely!

The color palette for my second card was also inspired by a sequin mix!! I absolutely love the colors in the Plum Pudding Sequin Mix Plus, so I decided to use those as inspiration!!

I began by mixing some Snowdrop White Paper Glaze with a bit of Sparkle Paper Glitz and spread it onto a panel of 110 lb. white cardstock with a palette knife. I set it aside to dry and started working on my background.

I lightly blended Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink onto a panel of Bristol smooth cardstock with Life Changer Blending Brushes. I adhered the Slimline Winter Rings Stencil over the panel and blended the same ink colors, using a heavier hand to apply darker ink. I diluted some Snowdrop White Paper Glaze with water and splattered it onto the panel. It was die-cut with the largest rectangle die in the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die Set, then adhered to a horizontal slimline card base.

Next, I die-cut the Slimline Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Slimline Word Topper Die from the glazed and glittered panel. I also die-cut it two more times from heavyweight white cardstock and adhered it behind the glittered one for dimension. It was then adhered to the front of the card. I adhered sequins from the Plum Pudding Sequin Mix Plus and a few white snowflakes from the Letters From Santa Mix and this one was finished!

That’s it for me today!! Be sure to head on over to Instagram to join in the fun there!! You can get started on my account at @mypapercutcreations!!

Have a great Wednesday!!
